Print Comment
A man on the "most wanted" list of Weld County felons is in jail, held on $360,000 bond for charges which include kidnapping and armed robbery.

Greeley police arrested Christopher Deherrera-Derrera, 20, of Evans on Monday on numerous charges, including kidnapping, robbery, menacing with a weapon and auto theft from incidents which occurred in July.

Deherrera-Derrera, a known gang member in Greeley.

In the most recent crimes, Deherrera-Derrera is accused of carjacking a 2000 black Ford Mustang from a woman on the night of July 18. The victim told police she was in east Greeley when a man she knew by the gang name of "Chucky" drove up beside her car and ordered out of her vehicle.

When the woman refused to get out, "Chucky" pulled a gun from his waistband and ordered her out again, and this time the frightened woman got out of her car. However, when the gunman ordered to her get out of his way, the woman again refused.

Court affidavits stated the man called "Chucky" told his friend to "take care of her." The friend threw the woman to the ground, and the two men got in her Mustang and drove away. Police said the woman picked Deherrera-Derrera him out of a photo line-up.

Three days before the carjacking, another woman told police a man named "Chris" asked her to give him and his friends a ride. She said she agreed only after they said they would pay for the gas.

However, when they got to a gas station, "Chris" and the other men refused to buy gasoline, so the woman took her car keys and got out of the car, refusing to drive them any further.

The man named "Chris" showed her a gun in his waistband and told her he would use the gun if she didn't get back in the car, she told police. The woman got back in and drove the men to 500 block of 16th Street. Later, after reporting the incident to police, the woman picked Deherrera-Derrera's photo from a line-up.

The second incident, because the woman was threatened to get back into the car and drive, is considered second-degree kidnapping.

Deherrera-Derrera is being held on a total of $360,000 bond: $200,000 for aggravated robbery, $100,000 for the kidnapping, $50,000 for a second count of aggravated robbery and $10,000 for auto theft.
